Blue and Black, or White and Gold: What do you see?

The dress. Some say it is black and blue. Some say it is white and gold. But I have been able to see much more from the flowing lace that makes up this impactful garment.

First first thing I do when I look at this spectacular piece is understand the object. Whether you believe that the dress is made of lengthy rivers wrapping around a landscape of charred land, or of golden rain, flowing sideways through luminous clouds, you see an impactful story that hits the hearts of every on looker.

Secondly, we have to look at the its meaning. Is this dress a symbol of American's and how we have grown to value different perspectives? Is this dress a statement on women's beauty standards and their impact on society? Is this dress an allegory of the dangers of climate change and how our world will no longer have the opportunity to enjoy blue oceans, and illusively become dependent on baron deserts? I believe that all of these meanings are being portrayed by the garment. Yet one of the most impactful interpretations of the dress that I can pick up is its blatant commentary on the lack of transparency of the government and how the average citizens of society can only view one side.

Lastly, the most important thing to look at is what the garment is saying, or more importantly, what is the woman wearing the garment saying. What does this woman represent. She could be walking down the runways in New York or Paris. She could be going to a cocktail brunch with her girlfriends, planning on talking about "the gossip". She could be picking up her child from a soccer practice with gravitas.  Or she could be making a statement about how stripes look better than polkadots. What ever the statement may be, I can see crystal clear that the woman is wearing the dress; not vice versa.

So to answer your question, "What do you see?" I can only say what the dress evokes, for I am color blind.
